You are never defined by your hardest season

Allora Rise is a mental health private practice providing counseling and therapy to individuals in Wilmington in person, and across North Carolina by telehealth.

Anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship struggles, and life transitions do not have to be the end of the story. Healing is possible, and sometimes all you need is a safe place, compassionate support, and someone to walk alongside you as you begin to rise again.

WHERE THE NAME COMES FROM

Allora is the moment you take a breath and move forward

Allora is an Italian word that can mean so, then, or now. It is often used as a transition, or a moment when you take a breath and move forward. I loved that, because therapy is often about stepping into a new chapter, or wrestling in the in-between of seasons.

The Rise portion of our name means to rise up. Allora Rise embodies the idea that we can rise up in a way of transformation from the in-between. A moving forward with intention, a place of breakthrough.

It also comes from Luke 8:54, where Jesus takes a little girl by the hand and says, “My child, get up.” In other translations, He simply says, “Rise.” It is a story of hope and restoration.

Whether someone shares our faith or not, this message captures the heart of our practice. I believe people are never defined by their hardest season.

How to start

fullgroupuse.jpg

01

Call or email

We ask about your insurance first, then what is going on, then what you would prefer in a therapist. Humor, homework, easygoing. That answer usually decides it.

02

Meet them free, first

Every therapist offers a free fifteen-minute phone consultation, bookable online, if you would like one. You can also go straight to a full appointment.

03

Start, and change your mind if you need to

You can switch therapists at any time by calling or emailing us. We would rather you kept looking than settled.

Why this practice exists

Stefanie Roback, LCSW, LCAS, founded Allora Rise in 2020. In her words:

I wanted to create a welcoming, nonjudgmental, highly trained and skilled practice that could walk alongside people in the Wilmington community during the best and hardest moments of their lives.

I wanted to hire the best of the best. People who really embodied a genuine heart for others and were very good at what they do. Our hiring process is pretty extensive because of this.

I also wanted a safe place for therapists to grow and feel supported and loved, because the work they do is hard. I hope clients and therapists at Allora feel really seen and loved.
